Group project in which we had to create an interactive installation for kids with the subject ‘space’. We chose for an installation where kids had to hoop in front of an Xbox Kinect using a hulahoop equipped with a piece of retro-reflective tape. The person in front of the Kinect would represent the sun, while hooping would make sure all the planets in our solar system would start revolving around it. Every planet would seperately appear on the screen through the side, singing a piece of the ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ theme song (1968, Stanley Kubric). Our aim was to get the kids moving and familiarize them with the concept that the planets revolve around the sun.
